As part of its neighbourhood banking concept, the training programmes were aimed at equipping the participating SMEs with the tools of Cost Control in order to improve the efficiency of their businesses.
The financial education programmes are initiatives dedicated to SMEs and other business segments served by ProCredit. In all, a total of fifty participants benefited from the training sessions that took place on the 9th and 16th of February, 2012, at the African Regent and Golden Tulip Hotels, in Accra and Kumasi respectively.
The course content included Cost Identification, Cost Variance Analysis, Cost Information for Management Decision-making, and Cost Control. During the training programmes, participants were trained in the skill of identifying and distinguishing between direct and indirect costs, spotting the sources of cost variance and attaining cost efficiency. Practical as well as relevant examples and scenarios were used by the facilitators in explaining the various terminologies, with the participants asking pertinent questions which reflected their extensive business management experience.
At the end of the programmes, the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to ProCredit Management for organising the sessions and called on them to create more of such opportunities in the future.
