ProCredit on 1^st July, 2012, held its 10^th Anniversary Dinner and Awards Night for Staff at the Golden Tulip Hotel, in Accra.

It was an ecstatic moment for the Management and Staff of the company as they took time to reminisce their journey as a company. In the Managing Director’s speech, Sarah Tsien Zetterli expressed her appreciation to staff for their hard work as a result of which the company has spread to its operations to 27 networked branches across the country, achieved a client portfolio of over 100,000, a credit portfolio of GHS 62 million, and a deposit portfolio of GHS 70 million.

In her speech, Ms. Zetterli took the opportunity to emphasise how ProCredit as a financial institution was different from other institutions. She explained:

“We take pride in our unique ethical approach to doing business that has enabled us make positive contributions to our immediate communities and to the Ghanaian economy as a whole. This development-oriented, ethical approach, which is at the centre of everything we do, takes priority over short-term profit maximisation.” 

In explaining the way forward, she unveiled to staff ProCredit’s new, energy-efficient, six-storey Head Office Complex to be commissioned this year, and stressed that its construction was a clear symbol to all stakeholders of the company’s fundamental commitment to continue operating and positively influencing the lives of Ghanaians. She also took the opportunity to reiterate the company’s plans of becoming an SME-focused bank in the next couple of years, and exhorted all present, saying:

 “We have a vision for becoming the single best partner for small businesses – a vision that we will achieve by working hard together.”

 At the event, deserving staff were awarded with Plasma Screen Television Sets and Home Theatre Systems in recognition of the outstanding performances they had put up in their various fields of endeavour over the past year. The longest serving staff where astounded with an award of GHC 5000 each as land acquisition or housing improvement grant, in recognition of their commitment to the company throughout the 10 years of its existence.

 The climax of the event was the fire fountain display, perfectly choreographed to synchronise with the cutting of the anniversary cake and the popping of the ten anniversary champagnes, marking each successful year of the company’s history

It was indeed a night to remember, one which Management and Staff will recall for a long time to come.
